Impact Hub Inverness has been created by Highlands and Islands Social Enterprise Zone. (HISEZ), the support and development agency for social enterprises in the Highlands and Islands.
HISEZ has been providing support and advice to social enterprises throughout this area since 2005 and is well placed to take on this new role as an Impact Hub from its base in Castle Street. HISEZ was acting as an Impact Hub Candidate from January 2017 until it was approved as a full member in May 2017, and in that time promoted the model to its network of contacts.
Founding members of Impact Hub Inverness visited the Tokyo Impact Hub on their visit to Japan in 2015 and felt that the Impact Hub model reflected the ethos of HISEZ. After that they visited the three London based Impact Hubs and were further convinced of the benefits of establishing an Impact Hub for the whole Highlands and Islands based in Inverness.
