Why did you decide to become a member at Impact Hub Inverness?
I had been working from home and found that while this was generally fine, I needed long amounts of time when I could just focus on my work without domestic distractions! I also found at that point that I was missing the company of people as well as the routine of getting up and out the door. There is something positive in knowing there is a space you can use that’s away from home, and you leave your working thoughts there at the end of the day. Working from home can be emotionally intrusive. I needed space to separate those thoughts and feelings.
What has your experience of being an Impact Hub Inverness member been like so far?
It’s been amazing to meet like-minded people as well as people who think completely differently. It’s inspiring. The regular events are fantastic too because it brings members together to connect so we do all feel part of a community. It’s also led to more work opportunities because more people have become aware of what I have to offer. Likewise, I know who to go to for advice on issues or joint working opportunities. That’s a spectacular impact for a hub!
Would you recommend Impact Hub Inverness, and if so what would you say to anyone considering joining as a member?
Come up and say hello! It’s a great mix of people, the perfect space for working or holding events. The team are so accommodating and it’s constantly changing. It feels fresh and exciting, great energy which in turn helps you stay energised too.
